How to Remodel Your Kitchen

Happy embracing couple planning their home kitchen furnishing. The kitchen is the center of many Alpharetta homes. Food, homework, projects, cooking, and gathering all happen for hours every day in the kitchen. If your kitchen is a little lacking in the style and functionality department, then now is the perfect time to give your kitchen a face-lift. At The Works, we can help you understand the remodeling process and also give you some great custom kitchen designs.

How it Works

Typically, the remodeling process proceeds similarly no matter what designer or contractor you work with. The first step as a homeowner is to sit down and decide what the goals are for the remodel. Is there a feature you just have to have? Consider materials, colors, and most importantly how much of a budget you want to spend. If you’re unsure of the design you want or how much to estimate, don’t worry. Next, you’ll meet with a designer who will go over everything with you and help fill in the gaps to make sure you get exactly what you want. Once the details are finalized, then it’s time for paperwork. You need architectural plans, permits, and contracts. You will get bids from contractors and select one. Then the real work can begin!

Design Ideas

There are almost as many custom kitchen designs out there as there are kitchens! The first decision to make is the overall style you want. Do you want a kitchen that is modern, classic, French, country, or somewhere in between? All are possible with your kitchen remodel. Here are a few of our favorite design ideas to get your mind dreaming.

  • Built in seating at a kitchen table or breakfast nook is a fabulous way of incorporating seating and storage in a tight space with a classic look.
  • Today, the kitchen is all about the backsplash. Funky, colorful, and patterned back-splashes are the perfect way to add a pop of style and color in your kitchen.
  • A great look for a modern kitchen is open shelving that exposes your beautiful dishes.
